Mission:
"Simply put, we're in the business of making people happy."
Catering St Louis Events is a full service catering and events company specializing in great venues for every type of celebration, ranging from small private affairs to elaborate public productions.
Audience:
People hosting weddings, private events, and corporate events.
Current pro/con:
PRO:
Their copywriting seems pretty good—focused on what differentiates them as a catering company, what their focus is.
CON:
Looking at event venues should be a lot easier. The pictures are tiny, and don’t do justice to amazing places like the Forest Park Jewel Box.
Event sites in general are harder to find than the company’s about section, etc.
They also list their available venues (like the Boathouse, the Jewel Box) under each category again instead of listing them all in the same place
It’s probably bad to force people to split up and go into weddings, corporate events, etc. instead of just listing those as their types of events
Similar sites:
Two Mikes
is pretty ugly, but at least they have a super available menu with things listed out
they also have a non-sorted photo gallery that’s a good quick way to show their quality
Patty Long Catering
offers a more modern website
good photography involving people
Show the faces of staff involved on the team, makes feel more personable
Hollyberry
pretty good looking, better way of filtering type of event
Ces and Judy's
They have a blog including things like “How to plan a wedding in STL”, otherwise a more “cute” site design, showcase vendors like photographers, photo booths, and specialty food people; also a good gallery
Visual inspiration:
Majorette
Not catering, but in STL and really fun and well done version of an events-space thing
these sites do a good job of using white and clean typography (or none) over big, full bleed photography
